Harveston Lake Temecula Proposal // Temecula Engagement Photography // Alex & Emily

This proposal is very near and dear to my heart. I have known Emily ever since I was about 8 or 9 years old. We played volleyball together from when we were about 10 till our senior year in high school. Emily was the friend I looked for when I wanted to have a good time. She was always down for an adventure out somewhere or a movie night in stuffing our faces with Little Caesar’s pizza. She complimented my silly wild side as a girl, and has always kept me grounded into our adult years.

After graduation, we lost touch a little bit while going to school and working full-time, but we always stayed in touch through social media! We reconnected when I was engaged in 2017 because she was going to be one of my bridesmaids, but that engagement ended which resulted in me having to tell her that. It’s actually a funny story now looking back, she came over about a week after the engagement was broken off and gifted me with a mug that ‘Mrs.’ with my supposed future last name on it, I felt SO BAD opening that gift and having to tell her that it was no longer happening. But she was so sweet and told me to “Throw it at the wall and break it if I wanted to.” Haha we still laugh about that now.

From that point we re-kindled our connection and started hanging out again, she was working through a relationship ending herself and were each other’s support systems during that time. Later that summer, I moved to Murrieta and started attending the church where I met my now fiance. I encouraged her to come check it out, and she agreed to come on a beach trip with me. On that beach trip, I introduced her to an acquaintance of mine, Alex. Little did we know that she just met HER future fiance. For about 4 months we were all just friends, but then in November Alex asked her to be his girlfriend. She agreed and then 2 months later my fiance asked me to be his girlfriend! It was the running joke that one of us would be engaged before the other, but that the other couple would be married before the first. Sure enough, 6 months later, my fiance proposed to me and we set our date for May 2020. Then, 2 months later, Emily and Alex got engaged and set their date for April 2020, and so our prediction was correct.

Alex and Emily spent countless dates at Harveston Lake in Temecula eating Domino’s pizza and drinking Dr. Pepper. So when Alex told me about his plans to propose to her at Harveston with a Domino’s pizza and Dr. Pepper I got SO excited! Our other friend and I dressed up as waiters and brought out the pizza and Dr. Pepper and then we patiently waited. Right as the sun was setting, Alex dropped down on one knee and my dear friend said yes!

I will never get over the feeling of watching this unfold before me. Two of my very best friends choosing to spend the rest of their lives together! It is a moment I am eternally grateful for, and now we get to experience wedding planning together! I cannot wait to watch them say their vows and start their forever together.

I love you both!
