Do you remember earlier when I talked about how my approach to weddings is probably going to be quite different from the average photographer? And that I’m here to present a new mindset for you to consider - rather than making this incredibly important day about the photos, what if we worked together to make the photos about this incredibly important day?
Well now I’m here to explain exactly how I do that!
In order to successfully provide you images that encapsulate both candid, authentic energy and beautiful, artistic energy - there is one common theme, and that is having TIME.
It's just about 99% normal to expect that the average wedding is going to be anywhere from 8-10 hours, and it's also totally normal to expect that every gallery you see must also fall in that timeframe. But I'm here to gently tell you - that is not true.
But think about this, even if we had all the time in the world, if neither myself nor you + your lover are fully invested in the process and open-minded + willing to do what it takes to accomplish our common goal, then sadly... the goal will not be reached.
The photographer-client relationship has to be a give and take on both ends. I 1000% need to provide help + guidance in how to achieve the photos of your dreams, but you also have a responsibility to willingly engage in the process, and with each other, on your own as well.
But in order for you to even feel comfortable enough to engage with each other, you have to trust the vision, the guidance and the opportunities that present themselves during your session/wedding day.
I will never push you away from LIVING and remaining PRESENT on wedding day - that is, and always will be my top priority - but it's super important for both client and photographer to trust the other party and make decisions that truly accomplish the same vision.
At the end of the day, trust cannot happen without intentionality, and intentionality cannot happen without time.
The moment we start to rush, or try to squeeze in photos within a certain timeframe, is the moment we lose the magic of not only authenticity & creativity, but also your ability to remain fully present and enjoying every moment as well.
As a result of all our hard work and preparation beforehand, your sneak peek images will be sent to you within 1 week of wedding day!
With proper planning and execution, you will then be able to truly LIVE your day, while I not only photograph it as it plays out, but also take charge when necessary and provide guidance/support every step of the way.
My involvement in timeline creation is absolutely crucial to the experience of wedding day - we will be talking about this right from the get go!
Kate is hands down amazing and so talented! We hired Kate for our engagement photos and our wedding! Both photo galleries came out sooo beautiful and soooo perfect! Literally, every person who has seen our photos has commented on the Kate's skills! My husband is not a fan of picture taking and she made the experience so fun and easy! Her laugh is contagious, which results in adorable, natural photos of laughter and smiles! She was super open to us having our son involved in our engagement photos, which meant the world to us! We live in Arizona and had our engagement photos and our wedding in California, so communication with our vendors was super important and she always responded to our questions quickly! Kate is genuinely a great person and is so fun to work with! Even though we live is separate states, my husband and I definitely found our go-to photographer. We’ll definitely be booking with her again for future couple/family photos!
If you are having a traditionally sized, standard wedding, then that means that TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE. And practically, that looks like 10 hours of full-day coverage. Now don't freak out... this doesn't actually mean we are taking photos every minute of those hours, but again, in order to make sure this vision comes to life, we need TIME.
Time to allow creativity to flow.
Time to allow you both to settle into each other's love.
Time for the tender, sweet moments to actually play out.
Time for the emotions to be fully felt.
Outside of coverage, you will also automatically receive a 2nd shooter, a FREE engagement session as a thank you for booking, and as many rolls of film as necessary to capture your day.
That is totally fine! I get into how I breakdown pricing below, but if you are choosing to elope or are having a backyard wedding/smaller wedding (up to 50 people) then there are absolutely still options for you!
Regardless of the size of the wedding, the main factor in providing a quote is always going to revolve around time first. And that is why the discovery call is so important to the process as that is what provides me with the necessary information about your vision to understand exactly how much time we need!
You will STILL receive a FREE engagement session as a thank you for booking, as well as the rolls of film mentioned above. However, a second shooter does not automatically come with this option, as typically they are not necessary. But if you'd like to add them on - we can absolutely do that!
Though I highly recommend booking your engagement session with the same photographer chosen for wedding day, you can absolutely still book an engagement session by itself if you'd like!
But remember, you automatically get a FREE session when you book me as your wedding photographer. If you book a session outside of a wedding package, the package price does not change - this session is a genuinely free gift given as a thank you for booking (the session price is not hidden within the package)
Outfit changes are encouraged, and travel fees only apply outside of the greater San Diego area.
I collaborate with an amazing video company called Narrow Road Film House to offer photo + video packages! Joel is an incredibly talented artist that will truly make your wedding day feel like a movie :)
We have worked together since 2018 and both approach weddings the same. When booking photo & video, it’s so important that both vendors can be in sync and have the same vision & direction for the day. So when you book us both, you automatically get that and don’t have to worry about anyone butting heads on wedding day!
If you’re interested in seeing his work, feel free to check out some videos on his website. You can also view his pricing PDF here!
Our companies are separate, so both of us will require separate inquiries, deposits & contracts, however, if you choose to book us both, you will receive a discount on my photography package!!
When it comes to the exact pricing for packages, it's important to note one of the main differences between myself and the average photographer. Most photographers will charge based off an hourly breakdown for the wedding day. However, the experience provided with my services extends outside of just my time photographing on wedding day - I deeply value the involvement in the time leading up to, as well as during all the editing after the wedding day. And even beyond the amount of time invested, there is also the consideration of all the skill + expertise that is unique to my experience as well.
As a result, the pricing below is based off of an experiential mindset - the numbers listed encapsulate the entire process from beginning to end - not just my time on wedding day.
Traditional, standard weddings start at 5000
Small weddings/elopements start at 3500
Engagement sessions start at 800
I want to hear from you!
