Ever since I can remember, I’ve always taken pictures. I also grew up with parents who valued capturing the moments in our family! My dad was the king of home videos, and my mom had a Minolta film camera that came with us everywhere. These home videos and film photos are something I have cherished greatly growing up, and is one of the reasons why I incorporate film photography in my business as well!
But fun fact: I actually never EVER thought photography would become my full-time job! I initially graduated high school with the intention of pursuing a career in the medical field as a speech pathologist. But the Lord had other plans for me :) Shortly after starting college, photography really started taking off and I had to make a choice - stay on my current path, or take a big risk and pursue something I absolutely love? As you can see, I chose the latter!
Oh! Also - my middle name is Rose... hence, Katelyn Rose Weddings :)
My Dad is my hero.
When I was navigating how I wanted to start my business and what the driving values would be that would make up my philosophy - I immediately thought of my dad. My dad was the hardest working man I’ve ever known.
Sadly, in summer of 2019 he was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and ended up fighting for a year and half. On January 9th 2021, I watched him take his last breath and enter into glory with our heavenly Father. Growing up with a dad who loved me like Christ in such a selfless way every day was the ultimate example of service. He was generous with his time and resources, never expecting anything in return.
His servant heart, which points to Christ, is the model used for my business, and I want to radically serve you in the same way!

I heard a quote once that I think completely summarizes this thought: “Our pupils dilate automatically like they do when it's dark outside and they’re trying to let more light in. Except now it's the light of your favorite person. The edges of our eyes soften a little and they sometimes even get watery which we also can't control. Tears of joy. We tend to raise our eyebrows as if we're trying to make our eyes bigger. Trying to get a better vision and seeing all the details. We tend to blink less than usual just to make the moment last a bit longer. Even if it's just a second. Or when you smile at someone with your entire face involved and your eyes just crinkle and create a sparkle in them. And it all happens so effortlessly and universally.”
You may or may not know that I also have a separate business called Kate & Co Photography with a team of 6 MEGA talented photographers!
For the last 3 years I have had the privilege of mentoring a handful of women in starting their own photography businesses, as well as have created connections with some pretty amazing photographers. Having these ladies as part of the team means we are able to capture memories for more couples than I could do on my own.
Each one of these ladies I have either helped mentor in their own businesses or they have photographed closely with me on a regular basis. I take a lot of pride in the quality of service I provide for my couples, and I have hand-picked these women specifically to carry on my brand and represent the type of experience I believe everyone deserves to have for such a special day, specifically when I am either already booked, or couples are looking for a more specific budget.
