I think we all know how hard it is to stay productive while at home. We have every easy distraction to tempt us – Netflix, Disney +, TikTok, social media etc. But here are 8 wedding planning tasks you can do from home!

  • Create/update your wedding website

Not only is this a great way to share information, allow access to your registry and get RSVP’s, but it’s also a great way to communicate with your guests too. Use your wedding website as the way to keep your guests updated and communicate that with them!

  • Figure out your dress sooner rather than later

It’s possible that wedding dress designers/boutiques might experience delays in dress shipments. And a lot of those locations are probably closed right now as well. Check out a few online options like Lulus, Asos, Wear Your Love, or – if you’re feeling extra ambitious during this extra time we have, design your own wedding dress on sites like Anomalie or Bluethread Bridal. Honestly, even Etsy has some great options! There are ways to still wear a fantastic dress for your wedding day while most physical shops are closed right now.

  • Figure out your rings sooner rather than later

Soooo fun fact: my husband and I were supposed to get married on May 2, 2020 but ended up eloping on April 9 2020. We had a custom wedding band made to fit my engagement ring, but both are still at the jewelry shop right now because they closed down before we could pick it up. With that being said, I would definitely suggest what you guys want to do for wedding rings! There are online shops for that too like this site and this one as well as the online website and purchase options on any chain jewelry shops like Kay or Tiffany and Co. There’s even some really beautiful rings you can custom order from local jewelry makers! Silver and Quill is a friend I’ve grown up with and whose wedding I will photograph later this year (hopefully!). Etsy has options as well and this company called Moon Magic Jewelry has VERY affordable options that are also really beautiful!

  • Have Zoom/FaceTime meetings with your vendors

Email not really your favorite? Do you enjoy being able to physically meet with your vendors to talk things through face to face? Well, obviously that’s a little hard to do right now, but you can easily set up a Zoom or FaceTime call with them and still get as face to face as you can under the circumstances 😉 but this is a great opportunity to just get to know them better and ask them any questions that may be on your mind!

  • Create/update your registry

Nothing like some extra time for you to be able to really narrow down what you guys both want for your future home right? Put all your favorites on the registry and link it to your website/send it to family and friends. Don’t be afraid to really dream!

  • Order/write thank you notes

If you were one of the lucky ones and you were able to still have your bridal shower (or any wedding festivity) before wedding day, take this time you have to write out personalized thank you notes! There is an awesome website called Basic Invite where you can actually customize every aspect of your thank you cards – most sites say that, but only mean certain aspects of the template or things like that. But this website is actually genuinely customizable! My husband and I used them for our save the dates/invites and we LOVED them! Ask me about a potential code for 20% off as well 🙂

  • Continue to plan with your wedding planner

If you happened to book a wedding planner for your day, I would continue to work with them and plan out all your dreams and goals. Definitely talk with them about everything that is going on so that you guys are on the same page about how to approach making your day happen! They should always be there for you too, so if you need someone to talk to or to cry with, I’m sure they would love to be there for you.

If you didn’t book a wedding planner, it’s actually not a bad idea to consider one now just because they can help you navigate this time with ease! This is literally what they prepare themselves for – adapting to crazy, unexpected circumstances!

  • Spend time together – NOT wedding planning 😉

Now of course.. everything up above has something to do with wedding planning haha and there will definitely be plenty of time for that! But also make sure you prioritize time with each other that DOESN’T involved wedding planning. Have some fun. Romantic candlelight dinner. Get creative. Cook. Bake. Play board games. Play sexy hide and seek 😉 enjoy this time with each other! We probably won’t be getting this much time with each other in this way ever again. So take advantage and pursue/surprise each other! I also wrote a blog post about 15 at home date ideas you can do during quarantine!
