I cannot speak highly enough of the two locations I shot at for Luke and Brooke’s engagement session (they’re both long-time faves). Balboa Park and Calumet Park are both gorgeous in their own right, so pairing them for this warm September shoot was the best. If you’re still looking for inspiration for your upcoming engagement photos, I highly recommend setting a day aside to stroll through the gardens at Balboa Park. Thanks to the temperate San Diego weather, there’s everything from a Cactus Garden to a Japanese Friendship Garden and more!
After you’ve checked out the architecture and plant kingdom at Balboa Park, just drive 20 minutes down the road to seaside Calumet Park. I loved playing with the light from the tide pools and sun peeking out from the clouds. Luke and Brooke wore outfits that made them feel comfortable and casual, but the earthy neutrals paired well with the evening glow. As a photographer, I love getting to capture the best parts of a couples’ relationship. Luke and Brooke wear their hearts on their sleeves, and I think that’s what made these photos turn out so well! 🙂
